Every country has its own natural wonders. And there are many of them in Kazakhstan. One of the most famous and beautiful natural attractions is the Charyn Canyon, located on the spurs of the Tien Shan, not far from the border with China. It will not leave anyone indifferent, touching invisible strings in the soul and forcing them to come back here again and again. The road to the Charyn Canyons lies through the Sogetinskaya Valley, stretching between the Ketmen and Ulken-Bogetty mountain ranges. The lunar (in Kazakh – Uzunbulak) canyon consists of clay. The shape and composition are very different from the famous Valley of Castles canyon. It is a wilder place; there are usually few people here, and sometimes no people at all. Yellow Canyon has great potential for hiking and exploration. There are many options for great hiking here. The canyon is called both Yellow (the color scheme matches) and Lunar (at night when the moon is full, the canyon acquires magical illumination). With no moon and clear skies, a myriad of stars are visible at night, as well as the distinct Milky Way. Canyon "Valley of Castles" Stone labyrinths excite the research instinct - in them you can find imprints of ancient plants and the remains of skeletons of prehistoric creatures. And when you are pleasantly tired from searching, you can always sit here by the friendly river in the openwork shade of coastal poplars.

This canyon is the creation of an inspiring duo of nature and time, approximately 12 million years old. It was and remains a classic of ecotourism. Here, shoulder to shoulder, stand rocks of different colors, shapes and eras, made of completely different-looking rocks - one can only guess what long and grandiose processes preceded the formation of its current appearance.
